Philippe Coutinho’s already slim hopes of representing Brazil on the World Cup are actually in severe hazard after he suffered a quad harm that dominated him out of Aston Villa’s win in opposition to Manchester United on Sunday.
Coutinho, 30, was a shock absentee from Unai Emery’s first Aston Villa matchday squad.
Emery confirmed after the match that Coutinho had suffered a “muscular harm” in coaching and was now unlikely to play on Thursday in opposition to Manchester United within the Carabao Cup, or in opposition to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
